And/Or (2002-03) applies the basic concepts of Eisensteinian montage (A+B=C), and returns to consider the concerns of previous projects (Transcodes, 1977-78, The Mental Template, 1979-80), examining the difference between the reading and the seeing of an image mediated by textual elements. The use of graphic elements such as the forward slash, and the equal and infinity signs are integrated in the work in order to hold the gaze and to produce a Rousselian effect (A+B=Z), a duplicity (Doublure).
